Product Introduction

Screw press is a new type of mechanical, low-speed, fully enclosed, and continuously operating dewatering machine. It consists of a filter mesh, a variable pitch pressing screw with a reasonable gradient change, and a cleaning device. It can meet the dewatering requirements of different types of feces and sludge in various industries. Compared with other dewatering machines, screw press has the advantages of fully enclosed and odorless, low energy consumption, good dewatering effect, and beautiful appearance.

Working Principle

There is a flocculation reactor in front of the screw press, the sludge with a solid content of more than 3% DS from the sedimentation tank, concentration tank or digestion tower will be mixed with the flocculant in the reactor. After flocculation reaction, big solid flocs are produced.  The flocculated sludge flows into up to the screw press.

The screw press consists of an inclined 0.25 mm wedge wire basket. The free water flows out through the basket while the solids are retained inside the basket and conveyed gently upwards by a slowly rotating screw. Continuous dewatering of the sludge takes place in the screw press with an increasing build-up of pressure due to the conical basket, which reduces the sludge cake volume in the press zone. The filtration pressure inside the machine is adjustable by means of a pressure cone in the sludge discharge port.

Brush elements on the screw blades clean the basket from the inside, and rotating spray nozzles backwash it periodically from the outside, so as to keep the filter mesh running continuously without blockage.
